The BBCC mourns the loss of Sam Hamilton, Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  Mr. Hamilton was a friend and supporter of the BBCC.  He believed the BBCC is a successful model for the resto fo the nation on how the public and private sector can work together to restore a wildlife species.  He was a "joiner" who brought people together to work on tough wildlife conservation and management issues across the southeast U.S. and the nation.  He leaves an inspiring legacy through his work on building partnerships for long-term species recovery and management.
Sam D. Hamilton, Wildlife Service Director, Is Dead at 54.
